Long before the birth of AIM, teenagers spent hours with a receiver glued to their ear. Today, talking on the phone is a thing of the past, but pre-internet teens had their own private universe on the phone lines. In 1958, LIFE Magazine photographer Grey Villet chronicled the teenage love-affair with chatting on the phone.
